Hesitation

Growinhigrace   -

I was looking up a verse to share with one of the young ladies that I mentor when another one caught my eye (and grabbed my heart).

“When Lot still hesitate, the angels seized his hand and the hands of his wife and two daughters and rushed them to safety outside the city, for the Lord was merciful”. (Gen 19:16)

As I read that single verse, I felt this nudge in my spirit…..

When have I hesitated to do what God was calling me to do? And when has He mercifully grabbed me by the hand and pulled me to safety?

It wasn’t just with Lot, either, where God somewhat forcefully pulls Lot and his family to safety. God sent both a storm and a fish to save Jonah after he ran away from God’s calling. The storm and fish didn’t seem to be so great at the time, I’m sure, but together, they gave Jonah a second chance.

And what about Joseph….God saved him from his jealous brothers and violent brothers by allowing him to be sold into slavery and then put into jail. Doesn’t sound like a lot of fun does it?

Let me ask you a question? Where have you hesitated to obey what God has called you to do? Why did you hesitate? How might God have “seized your hand” and pulled you to safety?

I would love it if you took the time to share your answers. You can pm me to let me know or you can keep it between you and God. Either way, I invite you to name it before Him and thank Him for His mercy and care even when it doesn’t seem that way in the moment.

Until next time

Keep Looking Up
